I have, and have owned one for years now. I don’t enjoy using it because my Leica M lenses end up odd effective focal lengths.

With the X-E4 you can put in the actual name of the lens and you can set the focal length to whatever number you want, and you can have several of these entries in the camera and then just pick the one you want to use.  It is very convenient now.

In past years there was maybe one or two focal lengths you could change, and there was no way to put in the name of the lens.  So, things are much better now!

Enter Cosina-Voigtlander.

I’ve had quite a few C-V LTM and M mount lenses over the years, and I like their optics and mechanical build. When they announced the chipped 35/1.2 Nokton in native X mount, my ears went up…

I have the X-E4 with 27mm. That Voigtlander is looking pretty attractive to me right now, too.

I kind of wish my credit cards had little feet and could run away when I get in these moods!

I know the feeling! What I like about images I see from the Nokton are the two distinct characters, one wide open and one stopped down. It fits my shooting style.

I bought the Nokton and then an XE-4. The chipped Cosina lens is excellent. It's more compact than the Fuji 34 f1.4 It's a huge seller in Japan and I think there will be more to follow.

I need to find mine and try again!  I do have a couple of non-Leica M and LTM lenses I should try on it for fun.

Wow, are you saying you can store custom focal lengths for each lens by name?  And if so, can you put the ability to select them into the Q menu?

That is a very exciting feature!

It's too bad about the electronic data connections not fully supporting the X-E3.  I bought an X-E3 a few months back just to have a small camera for those times when I want to go small.  The X-E size is great for the small "Fujicron" lenses.

I was going to get the X-E4 until I found out it didn't have a rear control dial.  That was a deal breaker for me so I went with the X-E3.  This also saved me some money as well but that wasn't important.  It was that control dial.

I call this item from the "MyMenu" function.

When you have anything in MyMenu, and you hit Menu, then MyMenu will be the first thing to come up.  It is easy to get to the regular menus after that.

I have 7 items in MyMenu at the moment.

I have this as the first item in MyMenu in my X-E4, and there are 6 fields to select from.  Each of the six allows you to put in the lens name in words and numbers, such as "Rok 85 f1.8", and the lens focal length, in this case 85mm.  It is an absolutely wonderful feature.  Just select the one that matches the lens you are using.  This all goes into the EXIF of every shot.

I haven't tried it in the Q menu.

Sounds like you're going to have lots of fun!

I just realized I have a similarly awesome lens already, the Mitakon 35mm F0.95 Mark II.  So I won't be buying the Voigtlander.

I’m not missing the rear dial at all - that’s the shutter speed dial for me, and I prefer using the top deck dial.

I just looked in the My Menu settings on the X-H1 and it allows lens modulation optimizer to be turned on or off (whoopie) but no focal length settings.  Boy, there's an easy to add firmware upgrade that I could request..

I downloaded the X-H1 manual and new features guide, from here:

MANUALS:camera | FUJIFILM X Series & GFX – Global (fujifilm-x.com)

Looks like the X-H1 allows selection of some canned focal lengths and a couple of user-settable focal lengths, but there seems to be no capability to put in the lens name.  Maybe a real X-H1 owner can confirm this...

Also, I don't see in the manual which functions can and cannot be assigned to MyMenu.

I had the XH2 and the focal lengths worked fine, although as you said, no lens names, and only 2 custom focal lengths. I'm pretty sure that it was also possible to add it to add it as top menu item in My Menu (not to be confused with Q menu).

Mr Bolton, is your firmware up to the latest version?

Yes, that sounds right.  What I mean by no focal length settings, is none that can be named and saved to a My Menu item.  Sorry, that was unclear.
