Lunch break with the XC 50-230mm
12

I decided to dust off my least used lens 50-230 and go for a quick walk at my local park during my lunch break.

I paired the lens with the X-E3, as I have been contemplating upgrading, which IMO really isn’t necessary:-D!

My best way to cure G.A.S is to go out and shoot some pictures

The weather condition was windy, so I really wanted to maintain a “safe” shutter speed as I wanted to freeze motion.

I was OK with keeping the aperture between F8-F10 at the cost of higher iso. I tend to shoot fast primes (wide open) most of the time, so this is a big departure of what I am comfortable/familiar with – just keeping it different (for me anyhow).

Just some snapshots to share here, hope this might spark more members to share their photos.

Thanks for reading/watching.

Happy for feedback/discussion/post processing etc

I like this lens and use it a lot.

Great in the bright sunlight where I live.

We spent Christmas in Jamaica and my wife surprised me with an XC50-230mm lens as my Christmas gift. I love it! Makes a perfect travel kit with my X-T20, the Xf18-5mm lens and my Konica Hexanon AR 40/1.8 adapted lens.

Here's a couple of shots using the new XC50-230:

View of the Holiday Inn island from our hotel room. Lens at 90mm

Boat activity viewed from the beach. Lens at 230mm

I think this may be one of the best Fuji bargains out there. I picked one up a little over a year ago. I use it as my around the neighborhood birding lens on my X-T20. My wife won't let me walk the streets with the X-T3 & 100-400 combo 🤣

Yeah heaps of fun, although it's my least used lens. I can afford it to be my least used lens (it's not my primary genre of photography) given the cost. But yeah plastic lens mount doesn't bother me, it's super light weight which is a massive bonus ! But really enjoy all of the photos that you guys have shared.
