M6ii and EF 16-35 F4 - focus stacked tests
4

In anticipation of better weather and conditions for exploring, I took this combo out in our neighborhood park to prove the concept so to speak, just to see how much IQ I could wring out of the lens and sensor combo.

Images were processed to taste in Lightroom, then I used Adobe enhance details before importing them as a layers into photoshop for auto-alignment and focus stacking.

Pretty pleased with this first attempt and yeah, some large files and images in the end with lots of details to poor over.

I think while this is not something I would need to do on most trips, when I choose to do so and take that extra time, its pretty easy to do with the touch screen interface and timer.  Much easier frankly than my old Pentax DSLR setup for this.

nice!

no CA

I always wanted that lens for FF, and I wanted it for the 16mm, but never pulled the trigger

I just bought the 11-22 for my m6II - happy camper with it and the m32 f1.4 - travel light

at some point I'll probably add the RF 16 f2.8 for the f8 and 16 mm on FF

Yeah, I got it for my R6, and I have the 11-22 for the M6ii, but I have yet to bond with it fully.  I think ultimately as light as the M system is, I will await a higher MP RF body to use the 16-35 on in this range, at least for when I want to try to make landscape art.  The M will be the through it in the car and not worry about it camera.

ahh, I didn't see 11-22 in your profile

I just got mine, so I have some bonding to do also

I've bonded with my 32 f1.4

I think that is a good plan - wait for a higher mpxl  RF body  - I don't think the 14-35 was worth it - so your 16-35 is a great lens

your 100-500 is a great lens

your R6 is a great focusing camera

I like my 100L on both RP and M6II

Yeah, my gap right now is a fast prime between 70-135, but that can wait for the time being.

if you do macros and portraits I can recommend the EF 100L for both FF and M6II

Thanks, but I think I want sometime F2 or faster in that range, plus having owned it before, did not love the AF on it.  But if you live within its range, the IQ is unbeatable.

It is not a sports lens, just like the RF 85 F2 IS I own has the same type of slower AF that doesn't keep up with sports but is ok for pedestrian -- but doesn't work on the m

if you do macro too, the 100L is the answer for both m and the R6.

if you do mostly portraits and some macro the RF 85 F2 IS is the answer

if you do all portraits and no macro -- then look to f1.4/F1.2

Excellent IQ.

You could also combine very close elements (like the leaf) with the landscapes to produce some interesting perspective effects (all being in focus).

Here's a quick sample I did with the M6ii + EF-M 11-22 (showing closest focus).  It's handheld with some breeze so it's not entirely sharp tho.  It's a full-size image...

Thanks for example.  Yes, the M6ii and I are going to do many walking trips once the weather gets nicer
