With no effort, this captures all fast and most challenging moments. This is the first camera that knows what I'm thinking and I'm fully satisfied when photographing fast moving kids (1-5yr) and dogs (german shepherd), or weddings with fast action situations in challenging conditions.
It has great image quality, excellent details, very nice SOOC JPG's and lovely skin tones. Fujifilm has still nicer travel and landscape colors, but Canon has the best skin tones and is better with flash.
R5 has excellent usability and ergonomics. Still I wish for more freedom to choose custom functions freely (perhaps in some firmware).
This is the first Canon to have good low light capabilities (R did not have). Fuji's create cuter overall images in low light due to film like noise and cartoon-like colors, but this is not bad either. In bright situations it is better than previous Canon's, but you still have to be careful and underexposure it unlike Fujifilm gear.
The R was a prototype and this is a raptor (In every area, especially speed, usability and low light IQ).
I warmly recommend to pair R5 with RF50 1.2L (not 1.8). I use it also a lot with RF24-105/4L and Canon Speedlite 580EX II.
You have to use L-lenses to to take full advantage of its potential. I have tried non-L, but it is easy to notice weaknesses of lenses with this camera. And if you want the best image quality, you want also the best contrast with L-glass.
Build quality is great except there is 0,3mm gap in the frame between joystic and info display.
