I like to ask myself this question "Is there something in the frame that dose not add to the photo or that subtracts from it?"  There are a few images here where there is empty sky above land full of detail.  You followed the general guideline to leave 1/3 of the sky yet what dose that empty sky do for your images?  You might want to try raising the horizon and see how high you can go and still include the sky.  One image has bright read lens flair.  Dose it add to the image?  Dose it distract from the image?  Image 6 seems very dark and lacks shadow detail.  If you bring up the shadows, do they bring details that are interesting or distracting?  The last image seems dark and the clouds are a dark gray rather than white.

I hope this helps,

Morris

Great shots. There's a couple I really like and although you beautifully captured the color in the first set it's actually the final one that might be my favorite. I'm far from a black and white connoisseur and wouldn't pretend to know the first thing about a technically superb B&W work but there's something about the tonality in the contrast between the light sand and dark sky that resonated with me. All art is subjective to a degree but that one just happened to strike a chord. Good stuff.

Some nice shots here with a good kit (biased since I have the same gear). Personally I would try to avoid such small apertures in your long exposures and invest in some good ND filters.

None of that is as important though as the fact that you're a fellow Tolkien fan...
