If you can do without an optical viewfinder, this tiny machine is the camera to have with you all the time. In combination with Canon's DPP4 (free) software, I find this camera really nice. The sooc jpg's aren't too bad either and the pictures have that nice typical Canon rendering. The CR2 files work of course very fine with the (free) Canon DPP4 software.

Small size in combination with - relative to the sensor - surprisingly good images and the low price (in 2021) will appeal to a lot of photographers who want a camera in their pocket all the time.

It handles well. Even when you already have a Fuji X camera and the EOS system and an older Canon 35mm camera (oh that glass…) this camera adds something to you photography. The Connect app provides voor easy transfer to your smartphone.

Three features I especially like are: 1. the C for custom setting on the top dial that makes it easy to switch from default settings to your own presets. 2. the built in flash. 3. The possibility to install Picture Profiles, to have presets to your own taste and save time editing afterwards.

Re: Small and great

Afflicted by short sight, I need to wear glasses to clearly see things further than half an arm's length. So beside the reflection from sunlight, bright lights, and other similar difficulties, having to remove my prescription glasses to focus on a camera's small LCD, and then replace them to see a more distant subject, becomes a real nuisance .

For small cameras without a viewfinder, I have found a solution in using a ClearViewer attachment. It lets me use the camera at eye level (so the LCD is usually shaded by my head, hand, and the rim of my hat), the camera is also steadied against my head, and I see an enlarged view of all the details on the screen through the attachment's lens.

So whilst my (dominant) right eye closely examines and frames a subject without having to remove my glasses, my left eye can be aware of what is happening outside the frame.

When not in use, the device folds gently against the LCD screen, so the camera can be rapidly deployed and stowed. I've found these devices a great advantage on half a dozen different cameras over the last decade.
