I'm assuming you are looking to pick up the X-T20 used since it is no longer in production.  I don't know what your budget is, but if you could swing the X-T3 you would see a huge jump in performance.

Sorry, I can't speak from experience regarding the X-T20, never used that camera.

Good luck.

X-T3 too rich for me, on a tight budget

X-T20

So I can only speak for the X-T20 since I had no other Fujifilm model before.

I bought my X-T20 more than 3 years ago. When I went for my X-T4 in summer 2021, I did not sell it. I still prefer it over my X-T4  for example in the city, in situations when I want to have a small equipment. I use it then mostly with the XF 23 f/2. It's a really great and very capable camera.

I find the AF of the X-T20 fast and reliable. It's certainly not the greatest video camera, but I am not that much into video, so I am not a good reference person for video.

Cheers,

Martin

Re: X-T20

I think my mind is set on the X-T20.

A friend of mine has a X-T10 that he is bringing round for me to have a look at to get an idea or ergonomics

For sure it will be substantial upgrade. X-T30 would be even better and worth extra money if AF is your prio.

I have both X-T3 and X-T20 and I must admit I like small form factor of X-T20 - it's a perfect companion for my 35/1.4 (but I used it even with 100-400).

AF-C could be better, but it's enough for everything but sport&wildlife (that's why I acquired X-T3).

X-T20 is still nice and capable camera especially for it's price

Good luck.

Cheers,

Artur

I would stop at X-T30, both bodies are almost the same, but newer is a bit better

I don't like austere X-E4, experimental X-S10 could be a step forward but is significantly bigger.

For me, X-Txx line is a perfect balance between ergonomics and small size.

As I wrote, in terms of IQ & performance - X-T20 is still OK.

Cheers,

Artur

I love my X-T20, it’s image quality is still right up there with latest and greatest and has more than adequate AF for almost anything (much better than the X-E2, especially with older glass). Video is better too, but as I shoot almost exclusively stills, I can’t comment too much on that. The X-T20 does pretty much need an add on handgrip (I like the Meike). Unless you have exceptionally small hands and/or the smallest of lenses, you will likely find the handling problematic without. It’s still my favorite walkabout camera with a good prime, though even the big 16-55 zoom works well on it too. With its d-pad, MCS focus switch, tilt screen, great high ISO performance, and classic dial complement, I MUCH prefer it over the newer X-S10 and X-E4 (over the d-padless X-T30 too, for that matter).

IQ wise, X-T20 is still a top performer

IQ wise, the X-Trans IV is not noticeable "better" than X-Trans III. One can certainly measure the difference but will not see in real photos. Some users even prefer the X-Trans III for its a tad better noise performance.

So, in a nutshell, IQ wise, the X-T20 still plays top notch Fujifilm, until the X-H2 comes out.

Cheers,

Martin
