Upgrade X-E2, with what?

Totally agree.

Totally agree with FTOG.  For me, EVF on the left appears to be a necessity (in a small form factor body).  Having used both an X-E3 and an X-T100 (similar to X-T20)  I found the X-E3 a night and day difference.  Most people criticize the X-T100 for it's performance, but it was the ergonomics that caused me to abandon it.  I personally did not like the D-Pad as for me it's primary function was accidently changing white balance when I hit it with my thumb by mistake.  People complain about the Q button on X-E3, but I have never hit it.  I was always accidentally hitting one of the D-Pads on the X-T100.  Something about the EVF on the left, for me, results in changing the way I grip the camera and where my hand rests while holding it in a good way. Note, I have not had this problem holding the larger X-T3 although have only held it in the store.  So for me, the X-E3 was well worth the upgrade.  But only you can decide what is important for you.

I love my little X-E2 but it developed a few problems due to its age.

So am looking for a replacement.

What I love about it is its size (I have an X-T3) and the only lens I use with it is the 18mm which makes the perfect put in your pocket everday camera.

I suppose the obvious choice is the X-E4, however being a tight git I always think used as its cheaper.

There is not much I would want better than the X-E2 but if I have to be crytical than faster auto focus for stills and better continuous autofocus for video.

I just laughed at the tight 'git' comment.    Took a second for the American translator in my head to kick-in meaning he's saying he's a tight 'wad.'  LOL.

Yes, but used differently.  As in, "Go on, git!"  This is what an angry Texan will yell out to a Jehovah's Witness for knocking on his door to tell him about Jesus.  LOL!

Buy another xe2 in mint condition. It has a d-pad and a on-board flash. Use it with one of the newer primes, so the af shouldn't be an issue, if you keep it in af-s.

That's the main reason I didn't get the X-E3.  The popup flash is a very useful feature!

Any American who's very familiar with the Beatles White Album would be familiar with the word git. I expect that includes quite a few of us.

The Beatles were before my time. I like a couple of their songs but I wouldn't say I'm a "fan."
