Unremovable white spots on EOS R viewfinder

Hi. This EOS R is only 7 months old. I cannot remove these spots at all with a clean magicfiber and a little breath.

They remind me of coating wear-spots on an old Nikon binoc eyepiece. Is this worn away glare coating? I really baby this camera so what on earth?

The pic is blurry because it was taken through a cheap desktop magnifier, the only way I could isolate them. Thanks much!

It's really too blurry to tell. Could be dust specs on the inside, fungus, salt deposits (e.g. from sea spray).

Have you tried cleaning it with something like a Zeiss wipe? At 7 months old, it should still be under warranty. You might consider asking Canon to take a look at it.

My viewfinder looks worse  but if it bothers you try an old household remedy: corona free saliva and a toothpick. No joke!

Mr Phylloxera, you are my hero!  Toothpick and saliva (I brushed my teeth first!) WORKED

It just gently broke up whatever had built up. Then back with the magic fiber cloth to clean up the debris and the viewfinder is like new!  All spots are gone!

Thank you my friend!
