Using the R for some theatre shots

I direct, write, and act in a show in a local theatre every Christmas (The Christmas Revels). The show has singing, dancing, and storytelling, celebrating the traditions of a different culture each year. Last year, we did a virtual show, that required me to learn video editing. This year we are back in person for a live show, celebrating various Celtic traditions (Irish, Scottish, Welsh). Last night's dress rehearsal (we had our opening performance this afternoon) was the first time the cast was without masks, and in full costume (the audience is masked, and none of the performers comes closer than 12 feet to the front row). I wanted to get some shots, so I took my R with RF 50 F1.8, and grabbed shots whenever my character wasn't involved in the action. The combo worked very well. I was in servo, face + tracking, 5fps (which is the top speed of the R with servo) the whole time. Here are a few examples:

The Hogmanay

Morris dancers doing Lord of the Dance
It's hard to dance with the devil on your back
Our champion Irish dancer

The ritual sword dance which kills the hero in the Mummers play (in this case Sir Patrick)
The swords make a star
Which is then lowered over the hero's head, and symbolically kills him
The hero is then brought back to life by a quack doctor (me). In this version, I revived Sir Patrick using a local beer.
I was very impressed with the performance of the R and cheap 50. The tracking was perfect, and the lens had no difficulty in keeping up with movement, even the very fast moving Irish dancer.

As the length of a thread approaches 150, the probability that someone will make the obvious "it's not the camera, it's the photographer" remark approaches 1.
