Landscapes With Long Lenses

hI really like some of the results I get when shooting landscapes with long lenses sometimes. Here's an example:

Shot with 100-400 OS C on SD1 Merrill

Does anyone else here like landscape photos they have captured with telephoto lenses?

That's really very nice. I often use longer lenses for landscape. Too often, wide lenses put too much foreground into the frame.

Nice! Living proof that conventional advice is not always correct.

Back when I shot a Canon 5Dii, I made this image of the Great Sand Dunes (Colorado) with a Sigma 150-500mm.

Hi Scot with one "t"

Sure, I like long focal lengths for compressing scenes, and not only in the countryside. In fact, I probably use them more often in the city. Here are some examples. Cheers, Scot

Back in the 1960s I had a 400mm Tele-Megor to use on the Exakta. I think these examples are Kodachromes. Location is near Cambridge.

Great Scott! You're confusing me, Scott -- I'm Scot and you're Scott. Which means I get off "Scot free"....and you??!

Re: Landscapes With Long Lenses

Nice...if you wanted to play around with making the distant part more prominent, you  could try a haze remover.   The longer lens works well.

Wow! Riveting stuff in that first one, Rick. - You can count scores of 'em   That's Vancouver, as I remember it from 2013. The rest are pretty good too, and only the second glacier shot shows some "sandy" grain.
