Got a used X100F is a bad copy?

Just got a Ricoh GR3 new and a used X100F

after reading this article and downloading sample RAW I opted for X100F since in comparison to X100F in street / travel at f4 it doesn't really seem to have a great difference

https://www.dpreview.com/articles/0120106839/fujifilm-x100v-versus-x100f-lens-comparison

I decide to compare at Ricoh GR3 and the X100F on mid frame can't match the GR3 until f8, it is pretty much the same in mid frame and from closer distance

GR3 is really sharp from f2.8 on all frame and has a slightly margin to improve but I gets a little better stopping down

Did I get a bad copy or X100F or is not sharp as the GR3? Would the X100V have a noticeable improvement?

That's either a faulty camera, or focus error.

I did an other test focusing on the trees ( on the green dot ) and it gets a little better thank focusing closer but on side frame it is still blurry at f4 to get better results I need to close a f8

Any other test I can take to see if it is a bad copy

The X100F lens certainly isn’t as sharp as the GR.  However, it is still a decent lens.  Are you sure it’s not user error?

It seems to be less sharp on the left side, but it gets better only after f5.6 / f8

Assuming no user error, it looks bad to me. There is absolutely some copy variance with lenses, but your examples look beyond bad. I only used an X100F for one day, but it was MUCH better than what I'm seeing in your examples. The X100V is significantly better in the corners, at close range, and shot wide open - and remains good with all those things combined. I used a GR III for a day as well, with the F being at least as good or better in most respects and the V being better in all respects. My V seems to be better than the one in the DPR review. Their comparison seems to feature an excellent F, and a just so-so V.
