One of the best lenses I have ever used

So, how do I begin this review?  I guess I will start by saying I have used hundreds of lenses. Some sucked such as the Sigma 70-300 dg macro, some were decent lkke the canon 17-40 f4l, and some were amazing like the Leitz Wetzlar 24-90, nikon 120-300 2.8 fl, the 400 2.8 fl and the 135 Sonnar. This little 1500 dollar 50mm f2 is still one of the best lenses I have ever used. It blows my 25mm 2.8 zf.2 distagon out of the water. This lens is beautiful. I got caught in pouring rain, but with the weathersealing and improved build of the Milvus I wasn't concerned. And this lens has such a beautiful build that I keep gerting stopped by people so they can ask about it. It is so much fun to use, the focus ring is so smooth. It has buttery bokeh that will rival a Meyer Gorlitz. It has some of the best microcontrast and perceptual depth I have ever seen. It is an incredibly sharp lens, especially when you consider its 8 element and 6 group. And the close focusing distance is amazing.  There is a reason this old mf ais legacy 50mm f2 cost 1500 bucks. But what can I say, it's a Zeiss

Thanks, no offense but isn't it optically inferior?  I go off of what the angry photographer says and so far have yet to be disappointed. The 25mm f2 is a stop faster, but does it have any other advantages?

The Milvus 2/50 is my most often used lens.  Sharp corner-to-corner, beautiful colors and just a pleasure to hold in your hand.

Yes, that is the perfect way to describe it. All the advantages of the milvus and the planar in one lens. I still can't believe i didn't even pay 600 bucks for mine

Actually, my bad. I think your right. I haven't used my d7500 much with my 25mm. That's probably why. My 25 is always on my fx backup and that's always been a d600 or a d700

The Zeiss 50mm f2.0 zf.2 is a beautiful lens, very, very good.
