Recently I was planning to buy a travel lens for my G9, and searched google and this site. During reviewing the old threads and it was inevitably to notice the gear list while reading the comments. The list did not tell you when people joined the m43, however it did show if you have switched gear and left m43. There is nothing wrong about it, just like we all know : people comes, people goes. For me, I probably will stay (use my current gear) for a while... ...

BTW, I am planning to go to a warm/hot place during the holiday and am debating among Panasonic 14--140II, Olympus 12-200 and Olympus 12-100. I did not consider Olympus 14-150, because it it similar to Panasonic lens, and I want to take the advantage of the G9. I may have to cancel my plan.

The 14-140mm is my go to walkabout, it’s range covers most situations. I do prefer 12mm at the wide end but, unless you intend to spend much of the time in cities, 14mm is enough. And, you can always shoot a couple of portrait images for a manual panorama. The dual-IS with the G9 will support low shutter speeds e.g. 1/10th at full zoom.

I have the G9 and just purchased the 14-140 II yesterday. I couldn't resist the $102 off from Amazon that brought it just under $500 for those times when I can't carry a bag.

I am hoping this new lens will be just as good as my kit Lumix 14-42 lens, but the extra range that I wanted.

Hi Marcia, it is great to have the lens with the promotion. I hope to hear about your experience with the lens in the future. Panasonic Canada just simply did not prepare any camera/lens promotion.
