T3I - images not downloading
1

I'm trying to assist a friend with a Rebel T3i and could use some assistance.

He recently went on a trip to California and took several hundred pictures. Pictures from other trips were still on the SD card.

When viewing images on the camera everything seems fine.

When plugging the camera into the computer via the supplied USB cord, images from the California trip do not show up on the computer (using the default photo viewing software). Images from other trips do.

Same results on another computer, and when using a card reader instead of the cord.

No error messages or warnings are displayed.

Any thoughts?

The card is Sandisk bought from Adorama about a year ago. He's been able to view/download images prior, so I don't think the card itself is the problem.

Is there any Canon specific software that he should try (for downloading and viewing)?

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the card (connected via a card reader) with a file manager, exploring and looking around?

Could the trip pics have been "nested" into a folder on the card someplace?

Also, I'd try a second card reader if one is available...

HRC2016,

Were the pictures taken in in RAW format perhaps?

Can you tell if they are there by using Windows Explorer?

If they are RAW files instead of jpgs, you can try using Canon;s DPP4 software.

Solved:T3I - images not downloading

This has been solved.

We used a different card reader and different computer.

It was discovered most recent images, shot on the Canon, were showing up in the folder labeled for the Panasonic images taken prior (to using the Canon). I don't know if the Panasonic folder was checked previously.

All were downloaded successfully.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hope this helps others.

No, JPEGS.

We're going to try a different card reader.
