Rattling sound on R6 at focus (AF Servo/One Shot) - normal?

So the change to mirrorless is complete (first R6 + RF 70-200 f2.8) and the sound is a bit unusual coming from the SLR.

I've searched a bit here (and also in various manuals) but haven't found anything about it, which is probably why it's normal:

When I focus on an object, the camera makes rattling sound and the AF points jump across the display. Not loud but audible.

Is this normal? Do you have this too?

Well my 100mm macro IS and R5 does 'rattle' about during AF with face detect, with the blue points jumping about. Also in single spot AF. Not in single spot non servo

In the former the blue points jump about as the lens reacts to them and in the latter as the point of focus changes with the servo. Not quite the same 'rattling' but lenses do 'rattle' whilst focussing

It is the lens that does the 'rattling', but if IS is on, there is a 'clicking' from the lens IS as well as a 'whirring from the camera IBIS.

The macro is pretty noisy, but my 100-400 is much more quiet

It may not be the same thing, but I have read that the IBIS can make a noise in moving the sensor. There is a thread about it here

I am expecting to take delivery of a new R6 tomorrow, so I will check and write again.

It seems strange that the electronic shutter makes no noise, but this does!

The IBIS on the R5, makes a very small whirring sound, that is barely noticeable unless you put your ear to the camera. The lens AF seeking is the most noisy, depending on the lens, seconded by its IS ticking or whirring. The IBIS/IS noise lasts for about 12 secs after release of the activation button, much longer than the usual 2 or 3 secs with the old DSLRs. It is an unnecessary waste of battery power, but not particularly noisy

Re: Rattling sound on R6 at focus (AF Servo/One Shot) - normal?

I am a bit stymied by the difference in the controls between my new R6 and my RP, so I am not sure I am doing this right. But I set servo focus and focussed on a close object. I then turned the camera off, and the 35mm lens retracted very neatly. I did this a couple of times with the same results.

As implied above, I may have a crucial parameter set differently from the OP, and if someone can suggest what this is, I will try again.
