EP7/ 45mm F1.8 lens, Drag Show Nov 12 2021

Here are a few shots I took last night at the latest monthly Drag show in Santa Cruz. Now that DXO PL5 supports the EP7, I just went with it and got pretty much ballpark of what the OMD EM10 MKIV gets.

It's nice to be able to use a compact camera like it and still make it work with the small Oly 45mm F1.8 in low light.

For the most part the camera focused fast and generally accurate. I also brought with me a GRIIIx for the wider shots and that camera while phenomenal really starts to struggle in low light for its AF. My experience on that over the Ricoh forum for those of you who may want to know.

Also Dxo allowed me to very easily dodge a couple of photos as the light in this show can be very uneven, to highlight the face of the performers in situations where the light didn't quite fall on their face.

I used only one battery. I used the touch screen often to do the touch AF area changes.

This is their final makeup/dress staging area. Behind a veil.

Same veil but I loved how the veil created this "filter" that makes it seem like painted or through some form of glass

One of the main shots playing a very creepy clown

Can't complain on the color I got with DXO PL5 and the EP7.

It's nice to know for the most part the EP7 could handle a lot of this with the 45mm f1.8.  I can only imagine the new 20mm F1.4 would make this better keeping the ISO a notch lower, increasing the detail quality/micro contrast while more importantly- get a boost in AF speed- if the other Pro lenses AF is anything to judge by.

great combo in great hands..

the number 2 is really moody, love it ! (perhaps an other aspect-ratio will add something ? like 5:4 or 6:5)

Thanks for the look. I decided to go for that to get the right side of lights as a way to show more of the place instead of an isolated framing, but that probably works too.

Yeah, that's also one of my favorite shots of the night. I shot early a few shots and noticed the veil, as a filter, then played with it a bit more and got that shot.

Thanks for the look.
