Now with the E-M1 II when I turn the rear control wheel to zoom in just one click it immediately goes to 1:1 (I think it is 7x). I can turn more and zoom in more, of course. On the rear display at the bottom there is a small icon that tells you 1:1. I really like that I am now able to do what I always did with my A700 when I got it in 2008.
Well, it turns out it isn't as good as my old A700 because of an oversight or quirk in the Olympus implementation.
With the A700 I could press the playbook button to see the photo and then press another button to immediately zoom in to 100%. Then if I wanted to go back to the full image I pressed that button again.
With the E-M1 II the first part is almost the same, but not the second part. With the E-M1 II I press the playback button and then one click of the rear control wheel zooms into 100%. I cannot find any easy way to go back to the full image though except by turning the control wheel several clicks to steadily zoom in less and less until I can see the whole image again.
Does anyone know a way to go back to the full image view immediately?
I just press the OK button to jump back to unmagnified. It works for me!
However, I do thank you for pointing out the "Equally Value" option, as I've had mine set on the "Recently" option till now, which is slightly more flexible in that it retains the most recent magnification I've used as the first click of the dial option - which is also useful but will occasionally change when I adjusted away from it for a particular image, so occasionally isn't exactly the value I want for the next image. So it's almost a tie (flexibility vs occasional non-ideal magnification the next time) but "Recently" doesn't have the little 1:1 telltale, so it's useful to have that and to finally see that 7x is 1:1 at my settings - thanks! The OK button works as an instant jump back to unmagnified full size image in either mode.
