Primary Portrait Battle: 45 f1.8 v 75 1.8

Both did well the other night at my friend's wedding. My friend asked if I would be his best man and later asked if I could be the photographer. I told him to choose one, so I only got casual shots at the reception, nearly all were sans flash to not interfere with the hired photographer (who had Nikon for stills and a GH5 for video).

I have both lenses.  I voted for the 75/1.8.

Except for the lack of 'lighting'  (you could have shot at 0EV imo), I like it better than the 45/1.8.  It has better compression and therefore is more flattering.

Thanks. I don't like to photograph posed people at less than 1/30 and I get panic attacks with ISOs over 1600. A half stop was my compromise.

I think theres something to be said for the field curvature in the 45. I like it.

The 75mm images are great but feel very "corporate" for some reason. Could just be that particular scene!
