Yoo-Hoo...!

Have you seen this:

Since the output of the SAC-4 adapter is 9V, 3A, do you think that, for the purposes of maintaining a bit of power for a few moments of battery change over, I could use an adapted 9V battery (or a few in parallel)?

atom14.

So, what do you think - a 9V battery as a stop-gap?

BUMP --- Last Question - True...!

Again: A 9V battery with proper plug direct into DC-In of SD1M?

OK, what about this...?

I'm sure it will have the right size plug out of the 7 it sports:

9V 3A DC - and cheaper than the Sigma one.

atom 14,

That should do it, just make sure to insert the connecter pins to the correct polarity.

UPDATE - SUCCESS...!

Guys, the following pictures speak for themselves - if you read the captions aloud

Best of all, it was a cheap solution, and so appealed to a cheapskate* like myself.

* Cheapskate - one who fails utterly to see the value of being ripped off.

1. Powerpack with flat battery in camera...

2. Powerpack only...

3. Running on charged battery only...

Now I'm going to make up a 9V battery version for field use, but first...

- I'm off to find a banana peel to slip on

Thanks to all.

Ta, S.

I'll contact the local Sigma distro, and if they still repair the SD1M I'll send it off (to Japan) again, this time with a plain message of expectation that their next repair last longer than a mere 18 months!!! I mean to say, just how many are there like that? This would have to be one of the most well-treated cameras out there, and yet...!!!
