Underwater camera for French Polynesia (withdrawn)

Too bad this was withdrawn as it’s an exact question I’m looking for

will be in Tahiti on a cruise. Only snorkeling. (Ie not going deep). What’s best suggestion?  GoPro? (Which?)

have already Sony dsc-rsx10m3 for regular photography. (Took great pictures in tanazania safari). What would you guys all suggest for simple underwater photography depth no more than snorkeling (unless I drop the camera)

if you have no experience with underwater photography, it's hard to beat out a Hero9 or 10 Black.   Get their dive housing (not third party).   It's cheap, it's easy to use and get results, it won't kill you if you do drop it.   (but get some sort of retractable harness).

Everything beyond that is a big increase in spending and complexity.
