I assume you wanted some C&C. How did this look in color? I envision that the rocks are a yellow brown color and they would stand out better. The sign must be red. That would be look good to see that. The young lady would be seen better too. This is a place where a telephoto or zoom lens could be used to get closer. The reason for that, is that with a wall you would not have to be concerned with depth of field issues. I naturally prefer color photos, so I'm a little biased that way. But also color might make this better. What do you think?

Worked out a crop I like

Yeah it's acceptable in colour

I personally prefer the less business of the B&W and feel it suits the scene better (especially when burned lower right highlight)

And I feel B&W gives it a more classic mellow aesthetic

but yes it works in colour too.

I think that would come down to if you're a colour or B&W man... I'm both tbh but it has to really sing in colour for me to shoot colour and this just does not quite sing in colour for me

Splitting hairs though for sure

I like that you took it before the girl walked into the shadow.

How about this... I straightened the taxi sign to make her walk uphill into the unknown (the jagged shadow) or she could have turned back for a safe taxi home. I also squared the picture to cut some of the dead zone on the right out.

I really like this composition, and I like it a bit more in B&W.  Note that the girl alone indicates motion; everything else is static. Also, the girl and what she's wearing are the only soft things; everything else is hard. The girl is at a perfect rule-of-thirds position horizontally and close to that vertically. And, the signpost and shadow create a sort of "V" space that draw the eye to her all the more. This image is a remarkable collection of shapes and textures in a small area.

Note the ancient bricks that meld at an odd angle with the stone wall. I wonder if the image is not only cropped but tilted. Was the girl walking more definitely up a grade than it appear here? My one slight and  tentative criticism is that I suspect the image might gain a wee bit of punch if the stonewall and brick were a smidge darker.

The color rendition is nice. To my taste, the B&W is great.

Nice composition, it has motion, directionality, geometry. I find it a little too hot in the lit wall which makes the eye wander a bit until getting to the girl. Perhaps more differentiation in the sign shades

Yes you're right there, the wall is a bit too bright and the shadow would print better darker.  I wanted to keep it lighter to suit how young and innocent the girl is but end of the day tonality IS important, so toned down the HL and dragged the shadow a little

Really nice photograph.

Perhaps print or project very large on a wall.

I would be proud to ever get a photo that good.

I seriously wonder how this would look in a very large size.
