G7 X ii - first photos
2

So I took the plunge and got a G7 X ii. First impressions: I like it. Small enough to take everywhere with you, but comfortable to hold (unlike some of the other compacts I've tried previously). The image quality is roughly what I was expecting, and is certainly good enough for my needs.

My biggest complaint so far is that it doesn't seem to allow you to display the equivalent focal length which you're shooting at. This makes it harder to judge how low you can push the shutter speed without using a tripod. Seems like a strange omission to me, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Anyway, here are a few test shots I've taken over the past couple of days, all straight OOC (except for the one of the river, which I tweaked a bit to control the highlights).

Hi, the photos are very great. I look the colors of the leaves and flower (last 2 photos).

If you like shooting in jpeg, you can play around with the 'Picture Style' to customize the sharpness, contrast, saturation and color tone effect to suit your preference. I usually use 'Fine Detail' +1 contrast, +1 saturation. This is actually shared by other users in this forum. I followed their advice and found that I like the effect.

Hope you enjoy your G7Xii.
