Edwin, it is going to be a valuable reference book. However, it isn't safe to eat wild mushrooms just based on what you think you understand from a book. People die that way. It would be best to be guided by an expert. The Vancouver Mycological Society is one place to connect with mycophiles and experts.

Thanks Rich, When we wander through the forests of BC we are always wondering what the mushrooms we see are. I have no intentions of eating them unless they are identified by an expert. Thank you for your concern.

Darn right I have! I carry a foam pad to kneel or lie on, and it also protects the ground cover. When my exposure time is 30 seconds (not infrequent), it's a bum-warmer while I wait.
