HP Zbook Studio G8 display - your experience?

I'm planning to buy an HP Zbook Studio G8 with the IPS display - 3840 x 2160, 120 Hz, 600 nits.

Where I live there are no shops where I can see this laptop before I pay for it (I've confirmed this with HP salespeople). Instead of reading 100+ reviews written by/for gamers, I would like to talk to photographers, since I'm a photographer myself. I would like to ask those of you who have this display what your experiences are. Specifically: is the display matte or glossy? Do you have any problems with reflections in the display? If I see a mirror image of my face in every photo I try to edit I will not be a happy customer.

Might want to swing on over to the PC section.  I have heard that the screen is very very good.  As for glossy, no, you will not see a mirror image every time you try to edit.  I only run glossy screens.  The only time you see a reflection would be a direct light source shining at the screen behind you. Anything else is a non issue.

I prefer the visuals using glossy screens.

Thanks! Let's hope for the best, then. Do you have any experience with HP laptops?

My only experience with HP was in 2007 when I had my DV9000.  I loved everything about it.  But it had motherboard issues and I traded it on my acer 7720 which I still have.  The motherboard problems were only related to the DV line of HP systems of that era.  I think most HP systems now are very reliable.

Let us know how it is once you get it.

I have a Z Book G5 and have found it a solid workhorse. Only problem I have had is it sometimes loses the second monitor after a Windows update and I have to fiddle around to get it back -- but that seems to be a fairly common Windows problem so not sure I can blame HP.

I don't know how my screen compares to a G8, but I find it very good for a laptop. For most photo work I use an external Dell monitor, but the HP screen is good enough for most photo purposes.
