Understandable.

Expensive sheet film  fashion shoots, other advertising photography, a lot of fine art landscape; 120 wedding and portrait migrated to digital.

Velvia was not used for fashion shoots. Wedding and portrait is what is carrying a lot of film use now.  That migrated to Kodak when it became clear Fuji was dumping all their films

Very sad to hear.  Shooting 4x5 Velvia was a thrill.  I have since digitized and printed a few and results are outstanding.  I entertained the idea of returning to 4x5 Velvia a couple of years ago but the cost of processing has skyrocketed in my area due to shipping fees, so I had to let it go.

It is certainly the end of an era that I most enjoyed.  I am sure 120 and 35 are not long to go too.  First it was Kodachrome and now Velvia.  I will strive to keep their palette alive with the way I process my RAW files, but it will never be the same.
