With the "trio" in Norway
14

Some time ago there was this thread concerning the „trio“:
www.dpreview.com/forums/post/65382937

For our vacation to Norway I decided to rely on this trio, which consists of these lenses: 11-22, 32, 55-200 mm. And I decided to leave my 15-45mm at home.

After all, I am very satisfied with handling, size, weight and with the results of this package in combination with my M6. The main applications were:

  • 11-22mm: Landscapes.
  • 32mm: Allround lens for portraits, landscapes and close-ups.
  • 55-200mm: Small tele for portraits and landscapes.

There were some situations where I missed a flexible and convincing standard zoom. But in the end, however, I was very convinced of this great small travel combo.

Here are some shots from this beautiful and impressive country:
1-10: Lofoten
11-12: Saltstraumen bridge
13-14: Langsanden, Sandhornoy
15-16: Rondane National Park
17: Jotunheimen National Park

Looks great!

Btw, what post-processor do you use? I can tell these have some kick. Lightroom does well on CR2s (DIGIC7 and prior).

Glad to see you didn't shy away from diffraction territory with the 11-22; f/10 is fantastic on that guy.

Folks forget that 32 can do 0.25x macro, it's capable for food, and then some if you're a dine-out kinda person.

The 11-22mm was the lens I purchased recently short before our trip. I am happy that I had it with me.

I always try to "keep it simple". All photos are jpegs OOC, only cropped to 16-9 and with minor PP. What I do is possibly a slight rotation and lift the shadows, all I use is FastStone.

What I adapt for the photos is picture style: Mostly auto, sometimes standard, rarely landscape. Always in combination with an adapted setting for WB.

The 11-22 is my newest lens, I am glad with its results

The running dog is more a "lucky punch", since both the camera and the lens are no specific "sports equipment". I've used servo-AF, but the exposure time (1/1250) is almost a little bit too long for this movement.
