It's been a good week down here in Roatan, at the Reef House Resort.

First 10 days or so were ideal - always sunny, pretty calm, no current.

Then some weather set in, and we had a few days in a row with current and surge - surprising here, because the divemaster has a wide range of sites to pick from, and he picks for no current. In 150+ dives there, this was the most current I've run into, though it wasn't particularly bad to work with. Did definitely take more air on 2-3 dives than usual.

I made a video I called 'Work with the current, not against it" but I'm just working out how to post videos. I put one of my first videos up on Youtube though. It shows what the normal conditions are.   This video starts under the boat at the beginning of a dive and goes until we get to the wall edge, 1:42 long.  I shot in 4k, but Youtube seems to stop at 2k.

Here is a video of a fairly typical dive in Roatan, starting right under the boat and going until the Divemaster reaches the edge of the wall.

And here's one of a surprise eel encounter. He snuck underneath me while videoing something else. I stopped my video, turned to the left, and he was right there! I started another video immediately.

Hmm. I keep trying to post two videos, but only one is accepted. Let me try this again.
