Wonderful photos Vitée ..
Peter

.. behind the hill are in the background High Tatras Slovakia.

..sometimes only those clouds in the sky are nice.

..the sharpness and detail of the 17-70mm "C" lens constantly surprises me.

Hello!

The SD1 Merrill gave me too many wonderful pictures to choose just five of them. It can be a terrible PIA when it comes to processing and adjusting the photos, but the results are usually worth the effort. Someone mentioned „Kodachrome“ further up in the thread, but I disagree with that. The SD10 is, in my humble view, rather kodachromelike. The SD1 is more like Velvia, my favorite film in analog days.

The first three are from a hike last weekend close to where we live. Two are just snapshots, the third one is an experiment with focus stacking using Affinity Photo. Something went a little bit wrong but the result is interesting enough to show.

Number four and five are randomly chosen. Low light is not the forte of the SD1 (I use a full frame Canon for that) but the full moon with colorful halo was worth a try. The last one is a panorama from two images.

I will never give my SD1 away. Maybe I will even look for a spare one just in case.

Regards

Max

(The lens used for #1, 2, 3 and 5 ist the 24-105 Art, a lens that I use quite a lot and bought a second time for my Canon as well, #4 was taken with the 80-400 OS (maybe)).

Edit: For some reason I can't insert my own pictures from my own webspace as usual, so links will have to do.

Wow Vitee...great set of images.

Thank you, Rick.

What were you using for processing then? SPP and

Photoshop. Great job on producing a rich feeling.

SPP to Tiff > PSP (PaintShop Pro) > Nik Color Efex or Silver Efex. Sometimes I use Affinity Photo.

Me too, I reckon.

On DPR it is so unlike what you do for other sites, as I was told of and found for Flickr. For your very enjoyable image in the link above:

go to the image on the site;

click on "Copy image location";

back to your post, paste the link where you want the image to appear;

click on the small "insert image icon" that appears on the LHS;

click on "embed"

(I hope!)

Nope! You might have sharing permission not set right.

Neither can I. It changed months ago.

Now, to post something from another site, I have to download from there, then upload to DPR.

Hi everyone .. here are some pictures from the High Tatras in Slovakia, the first two are taken just before sunset. I'm sorry, the photos are not retouched. The first lens 100-400mm, the second lens 18-35mm and the third 50-100mm.

Another lovely set, Rick.

The second last shot is my fave -- very natural colours.

Thanks for hosting this trip down memory lane.

Just saw this thread, fun stuff! I came to the SD1 party late - got it 2 yrs ago to be my "DP4 and DP 5" Merrill LOL

Here are some that I dont think I've posted before. I did a huge photogallery on the SD1 + 18-300 OS combo. That gallery is here

Have a great Halloween weekend

Scot

San Miniato al Monte, one of the oldest churches in Florence, seen from the  Arno river

Early test shot of the 18-300 OS superzoom. Florence's Duomo gives a rewarding view from the highest perch in the city

The splendid mosaics in Monreale's Cathedral (Palermo) glow gold at sunset

A Spring sunset in Chianti

A stroll along the port after Sunday lunch, Palermo

The stabilized SD1 does low(-ish) light better than it's little Merrill brothers (ISO 640 @ 1/200)

You can run another SD1M thread in 18 months time. It should yield a second fine crop.
