Really nice one Ed. Very nicely composed and I like the color contrast you went for. Well done 🙂

Thanks Roger. The composite built seven layers by masking, blending and slowly applying tones and hues to each layer until day turned into late evening. It was a fun indoor photography project for a rainy afternoon. Ed

Micah,

This is my favorite image of the set. Very nice cropping (gotta love the all the details in the A7R IV files) of a very well captured subject. But surprisingly what really captures my attention is the detailed foreground shadow as it curves on the leaf. I just find it a fascinating component of the image. Thanks for sharing.

Ed

It wasn’t a deliberate choice. The scene was changing fast and this lens was already on the camera.

On the full screen I think it looks like being there, with an immersive effect from the combined blue colors and the short + long perspectives.

Thanks, yes I too find this image surprising interesting, though the poor butterfly has one of its wings in quite a bad sharp.  I find the background from the lens is consistently very appealing in all the shots I had taken.  Very happy with the results this lens is giving me.  And I sort off get used to the weight of 1.8Kg + the A7R4 as well.  It is now quite manageable for handheld over a long walk of 2 hours.

Cheers.

A wood duck on a cloudy day in shadow. Thought the 200-600 and A9II really handled the low shutter speed and high ISO well.

For every house is builded by some man; but He that built all things is God. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Re: Tiny plants, a mushroom and an expanded clay aggregate.

I like the detail.  For the 2nd shot, did you have the light to clse the aperture 2 or 3 stops if you wanted to?
