Does the GRiii accept filters like polarizers on the lens?

Yes, if you use GA-1 adapter. It has 49mm filter thread.

However, it does make the camera substantially thicker:

Hi, I had an adhesive magnet ring on my lens to which a slim filter holder would be attached. I used this with two ND filters for a combined 16 stop (+ what the Ricoh has). The brand I believe is themagfilter. I was quite pleased with that and found it way better than using the bulky adaptor.

But be wary if you ever have to remove the adhesive ring:

Nisi makes one too. Not as bulky as the original (which is primarily designed to attach the heavy converter lens), and also cheaper. I would prefer this over the self adhesive solutions.

NiSi also has a filter kit for GR or Fuji which includes a brace, polariser and some other filters.

Mine was very firmly shut on the front lens but I easily removed it without even using floss or anything. It's just about taking your time with it rather than pulling from one end.

I used my finger to unstick the edges all around slowly, before trying to remove it.

Btw I removed it only because I'm selling the GR III in favour of the IIIx.
