Cropping versus pinch and zoom.

Cropping versus pinch and zoom?
How come when you crop you lose image quality but if you’re on a good iPad with retina display and you zoom it seems to maintain the quality. Maybe it’s just me.

Pinch and zoom resamples

Apple’s pinch and zoom does upscaling, so it ends up with a zoomed image that has the same pixel dimensions as a photo without zooming. The resampling looks fairly good, but there are still obvious artifacts.
