More with the 70-300 & 1.4xTC
50

All of them were cropped, edited in LR and finally passed from Denoise AI Clear.

CAF hit rate is lower than Sony RX10IV but IQ and crop capability much higher. I will post some similar samples in the Sony forum too.

Absolutely fantastic!!

Boy does this lens seem like a winner. Bokeh looks über smooth, and the MFD is ridiculous.

Speaking of – does the TC allow you to focus closer than the (already incredible) 1:3 ratio?

Haven’t tested the focus distance extensively, but I think not. I have the impression focus distance gets higher with the TC.

Great pictures for sure!!

I enjoy using this lens as well on my XT4.I do find however that the lens looses some microcontrast on the long end--

Maybe just a bit, but you can recover the missing contrast with some pp.

For anyone interested on the Sony RX10 IV performance at the same subject here is the link:

I would say both the Fuji XT3 and the Sony RX10 IV are fantastic tools and capable of superb photos.

Wow, nice work. That certainly answers my question about its close up capabilty!

How much did you crop (%)?

It depends on the photo, but if you check the image analysis and compare it to original 6240x4160 you can find out.

CAF hit rate is lower than Sony RX10IV but IQ and crop capability much higher. I will post some similar samples in the Sony forum too.

How much lower was the CAF hit rate?  What were your Fuji CAF settings?  Thanks! And really nice photos!

Hi!

not by much really and my measurement is definitely not scientific, just by sense. It’s based on the fact that one the first day I got more keepers from the rx10 than the xt3. However having used them both for more for this subject, I would say they are about the same with the xt3 having some UI advantages.

Their CAF is also a bit different. In XT3 you have the option to choose from many size areas and it seems a 5x5 or 9x9 works the best. On the other hand the rx10 seems to get the best performance while on wide area.
