Today's Sunspots from Sydney...
11

This was taken this afternoon using the SD1M and Sigma 50-500 lens @ 500mm, and with solar filter attached. I went to my usual site and beheld a plethora of activity, and a couple of great pics by a 'tog in Spain. (All links below.) So I dusted off the old equatorial mount and set it all up. During raw conversion I chose Incandescent WB instead of the rather ruddy-yellow Sunlight and Auto, so I got a somewhat salmon sun, which I like

Sunspots 11 September 2021 (Local time, 100% crop)...

Other image links:

The usual site: https://spaceweather.com/
(Click Daily Sun image.)

Inspiring shot by other photographer, but link may be temporary:
https://spaceweathergallery.com/indi...load_id=177737

Other image by same photographer (Twitter acct):
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E-21SdTWYAAQb7b.jpg

And, can someone please tell me HOW to link to an image on Flickr on this site? Ta.

Comment & critique:
Please provide me constructive critique and criticism.

Very impressive, young man!

And, can someone please tell me HOW to link to an image on Flickr on this site?

I can't - but over on Cambridge in Colour images posted from Flickr almost always come up with extraneous crap, wrong size, na-ni-na ...

Plus, from my computer, images posted here with URLs don't come up anyway ... only by uploading from my HD to DPR ...

Ta, Guys...

SigmaTog, it sure has been a while since we've had a fish lunch, eh!

And Biziclop, ta for the tip. I will try it below. I was floundering about - keeping with the fish theme - with the "Insert image from web" option - Obviously not one.

Same image as a link from Flickr (I hope)...

https://www.flickr.com/photos/160711345@N08/51444748556/

(Post and test.)

(Edit: Nope. Just the link.)

Link inserted into PFW option...

Nope! Got "Error: Could not load the image from the specified URL. Please check the URL and whether the remote provider is configured to allow cross-origin image sharing."

With general "Share" link:

https://flic.kr/p/2mnZMro

2nd edit: Nope to all! Biziclop, could you please expand on your success?

That's the one I get, too ...

S-Tog. It's not that it opens, but that it does not show image in the post already, like Biziclops's does.

Sorry, I was lazy yesterday.

I used the Image Max URL add-on for Firefox, which helps finding the largest version of images:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-max-url/

https://github.com/qsniyg/maxurl#readme

I chose this random photo, because the uploader disabled downloading:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/eagle1effi/33768215291/

The add-on presented me with the largest available image (intended for displaying only of course), which has this link:

https://live.staticflickr.com/2941/33768215291_ec2b6dd46c_4k.jpg

… which I just pasted to the editor and clicked the appearing left thingie and chose Embed.

Let's see a photo allowing downloads:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/kokoschkas_doll/29566253866/

Click the download icon at the right bottom of the dark area, click View All Sizes:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/kokoschkas_doll/29566253866/sizes/

Pick a resolution, probably the original:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/kokoschkas_doll/29566253866/sizes/o/

and either copy the image location by using right-click:

https://live.staticflickr.com/8339/29566253866_77a1281411_o.jpg

or copy the link target of the Download the Original/etc size of this photo:

https://live.staticflickr.com/8339/29566253866_77a1281411_o_d.jpg

Notice the added _d in the link, which forces download when opened in a new browser tab/window.

Normal image link embedded

Nasty auto-downloading link embedded to screw people wanting pixel-peep in the browser

EDIT:

Apparently dpreview always loads the huge original photo this way and does not make a small, quick loading preview.

OK, I think I've got it...

Pick the (largest) image for me as directed above. Open in new tab, then use R-click to copy from inside image. Paste below and click on "the appearing left thingie" and embed:
