Canon EOS R Auto ISO Issue with GODOX

Hi,

I own two EOS R, one works fine with Godox Products, however one in the last month or so has been driving me nuts, it keeps reverting to auto ISO when I am using Xpro trigger or Godox 860IIC. It also changes the Modes to the flash from Manual to ETTL sometimes also automatically on both the flash and the trigger.

All firmwares are upgraded to latest for all devices, and I am aware I can go and set a limit to my Auto ISO, however is there a fix so I don't have to do that.

If anyone can help fix this issue, it would be awesome!

I have contacted Canon but they won't do anything as the camera without the flash gives no issue, I have tried multiple triggers and flashes and its the same issue on that camera which is only 6 months old.

My first suggestion would be to go through the menus of each camera and compare the settings since your one camera always works fine with the Godox products.

Thank you for that, I have reset the camera to factory settings and changed all the settings of the reset camera to the other, and still the issue came back.

And the same Godox Flash/Trigger, when used on the not-acting-weird camera, acts normal?

I have the Godox X1 trigger/receiver system and somehow my Speedlite 580EXII's custom function prevented the flash from working normally. But if you're on the latest firmware and both of your camera's settings are the same, and the flash works on one of them and not the other, then perhaps it's time to email Canon Support.

Yes! My other EOS R acts normal.  I think the issue is in the compatibility of the Godox products with canon EOS R. I won't be surprised if my other EOS R starts acting up soon as the EOS R that is giving me problem was also fine for about 5 months or so.

I think a lot of people are having trouble with this, with no resolve, but thought perhaps someone found a fix for it.

I have read about this a while ago. So you have checked the firmware? That seemed to have fixed the same issue about a year ago from others. I have the flashpoint branded triggers and speed lights and studio lights including the AD200, AD 400 and AD600. Flashpoint is slow to update firmware available but the godox site has newer firmware on some of the triggers and flashes.  I put the newer Godox firmware in and I have never had that problem with my R. I just received the R5 today so haven't tried strobes with it yet...

Re: Canon EOS R Auto ISO Issue with GODOX

I have 2 EOS R'S and have the same issue, but intermittently.  I double checked my V860 firmware and still have issues.  Have you been able to resolve the issue?

I have the same problem with both my RP and my Godox flashes/transmitters, including X1T, X2T, AD200 and V850ii. This bug remains unfixed.

Canon claims to have fixed the problem on both the R and RP (V1.5 & 1.6 on RP). But I still have run into this problem using manual flash mode and 1st curtain shutter. Strangely I don't not have this problem in HSS mode.

Fix EOS R & RP Auto ISO Issue with GODOX or other Flash

Forgot to add my workaround to the R/RP jumping into autoISO while on flash:

1. Set "ISO speed settings" in camera menu 3 to "Auto range" and select "200" as the maximum speed.

2. Save setting in wrench menu 6 to "Custom shooting mode", Don't forget to enable "Register settings", "C1". Don't forget to set "Auto update set" to "Enable".

3. Select "C1" when you are shooting with flash and set ISO to 200. When camera decides to jump into "AutoISO", it will still be at ISO 200 ... so you won't have the annoying overexposure.
