magnification of 1.4x

I like the magnification of 1.4x and I use it often in macro photography. To get a good depth of field I am fond of "dof bracketing". The canon software "Digital Photo Professional 4" gives good results in processing the photo stack.

The lens is sharp, even in the corners. I like using the Av one are two stops closed.

The lens is stabilized to 8 stops with my EOS R5. Nice with low shutter speed for non moving subjects.

I also like the lens as portrait lens. The spherical aberration control dial is a new option I still have to learn to work with.

I like the lens a lot for insects, spiders, flowers, and so on ...

The lens is not to heavy and I like that the lens is well sealed.

It is a pity that the autofocus ring does not work with the lens in AF. I sometimes need to put the AF dial to manual focus using the focus ring, set the autofocus point and turn back on the AF. The distance switch has three options that work very nice.

Welcome, and thanks for the review!

Make sure you have the latest firmware on the camera. This was a problem on some earlier lens types that was enabled by firmware update. Not sure if it fixed it for your lens but might be worth checking.
