Maxxum macro setting

I have a Minulta Maxxum 5D. I want to take extreme close-ups. Is there a way?

Yes , quite simple really .

It depends on what your calling extreme closeup .

Do you mean close-up photography at less than life size , or macro , from a magnification of life size upwards ?

If you want 1:1 reproduction you buy a macro lens . That will put an image on your sensor that is the same size as the item your photographing .

So you will fill the frame with something the size of a full bumblebee .

If you want a higher magnification then you buy the Minolta 1x-3x macro lens .

So at 3x life size , you would get only a proportion of the bumblebees body in the frame .

I wouldn't call this extreme close up though .

For extreme close ups you need to use microscope objectives .

At 100x magnification you will be taking a shot of just part of a bee's eye .

If course a sturdy tripod is required , a perfectly still subject .

A well lit subject for focussing , and suitable macro flash to take the exposure to avoid noise from long exposures etc .

The higher the magnification , the closer to the subject the lens is , the less light there is and the harder it is to provide light .

A question of manners .
1

Also , this is the third post you've made and the third time you've asked a question .

But you've yet to have the manners to respond to the people that have tried to help you .

It's only polite to at least say "thanks" . I learnt that of my parents not long after I learnt to talk .

Were you not tought the same ?

Manners cost nothing .

If you ask a question where a question is asked to you , if you can't be bothered answering , then it's impossible to help you further .

Regards .
