X-E3, or X100F,T for Streetphotography

Hello,

I have been researching very long. I Currently have an Olympus Em1 Mark II with 12-100. I am pretty happy with the Camera overall. But it got very bulky to carry around everyday. And slowly I want to get in to street photography and events with friends i decided to get a second camera that i could fit in my pocket, becouse the best camera is the camer you have with you yeah?

I even thought of making the leap to XT4 and selling my Olympus gear but i didnt see that big of a difference. And this 12-100 is a beast

Can you guys help me decide according to the 2nd Hand prices here in Germany.

In Euros

X E3 - 500,- + Fuji XF27mm 2.8 - 250-300,- (What I am thinking to get) or the

Fujinon XF35 1.4 - 400,- but i have to have bigger pockets

X100F - 650-700,-

X100T - 450-500,-

Thanks!

It depends.  The XE3 with the 27mm pancake lens is easy to carry about, and it offers the flexibility of interchangeable lenses.  The X100 cameras are nice, but you settle for one focal length.  So what matters to you?  I prefer interchangeable lenses myself.

I'd just go for the X100F...as long as you're happy with the 23mm lens.

Keep your EM1 and keep using it, use it for SP, this is my advice, an X-E3 is not small, and certainly not pocketable.

And what use is a camera in the pocket anyways, not much use for street.

I use M43 and Fuji for SP, they are both about the same in size, I use flash as well, double flash.

Size, its a head thing, all in the mind, get over the nerves, get on with it, enjoy.

You cant go wrong with either but in your case, i say get the x100. Either the T or F will do just fine, depends of course on how much you want to spend. XE3 is nice and smaller than the X100 even with the 27mm attached but since you already have Olympus for other lenses, go for the x100. The ND and leaf shutter would be really handy for street shooting.

Good luck!

I'm a big fan of the x100 series. It's a very fun and engaging camera and there aren't many practical limitations to the focal length. It's pretty much the ideal street, social and travel camera.

Between the T and F I'd definitely recommend the F. It is noticeably better on autofocus, has a better battery and has numerous ergonomic improvements vs the T (save the Q button which is in an inconvenient spot, and the front command dial which was a constant irritation to my index finger)
