A female ruby-throated hummingbird, photographed with an X-T20 and Canon FD 300mm F4 L, a lens that I really enjoy but don't use as often as I should.

Slight crop.

Trying to capture birds on the wing with a manual focus lens requires patience, and the ratio of non-keepers to keepers is even higher than usual.

Real nice Jonathan,

I can't think of a way for you to use lock focus on a Fuji.  Possibly someone knows how to do this.

Nice shots.  I really like the interpretation in the post processing as well.

Long time Canon Explorer of Light Arthur Morris as well as acquaintance of mine for many years. Arty and I had not crossed paths in a few years so it was nice to catch up and shared a few of our recent images which was a lot of fun.

I'd love to see a few of his shots with that rig! That dude must absolutely love photographing birds to be cool with that much sand in his hood!

Maybe it's because I'm a video guy but I absolutely love the grade of this photo.  Also, adding the black bars really brings the vibe of the edit home.  Really well done.

Here is a link to his blogpost for the days shoot. He had told me about the Kill which he titled "Murder on the Beach". I feel it's one of his most amazing photos and Arty has many showstoppers. He was once considered the top avian photographer in the world. Yes, he absolutely loves photographing birds.
