A new toy for my K-1! (Sigma 35mm)
3

For quite some time, I wanted a lens that is different than my collection of mostly classic-era glass. The Sigma 35 1.4 was on the radar for some time, but I found 800 euro a bit steep for something I might use only occasionally.

Today, my local camera store offered this ex-demo-lens, and made me an offer I could not resist. Added a 3-stop ND for sunny days.

Needs some calibration, the shot below was made in live-view. But first impressions seem to confirm what reviews say, so this will make a fast and versatile lens.

Did it need mount adaptation? Most Sigma lenses would apparently scratch the K-1, but not other Pentax DSLR's.

I bought that lens used for my k-1 and have had no scratching issues. The duo is capable of beautiful images.

After reading reviews on Pentaxforums, it seems to me that early batches of this lens had a slight tendency to scratch K-1. But this was addressed by Sigma. In addition, I have not had issues with other Sigma-lenses I've used on the K-1.

My copy was not affected by this.

However, I had to return this lens for other reasons, and traded it in for a DAF* 50 1.4.
