two old cameras converted to full spectrum
6

Mostly out of boredom I converted a Pentax X90 full spectrum a couple weeks ago.
That was quite easy and went quite well despite the need to unsolder an few wires. The "larger" lens allowed me to easily install a 49mm threaded filter mount.

The results with a 720nm filter are good considering the tiny sensor. False colors and black and white look good. The custom white balance works well.

The thing is I like the photos but that camera is just to big for its sensor, very unpractical to carry when I'm going for a walk (I also carry a FF camera and couple lenses: ultra wide and super tele)
So, Yesterday I converted a pocketable camera: Samsung WB35F.
The full spectrum conversion was super easy and straightforward.
I made a temporary filter holder, but I think I'm gonna go for a 30mm holder because i'ts lighter and will put less strain of the tiny extendable lens,
I didn't really test it because of insane rain, but the only test photo I took was ok.

More IR photos taken with those cameras in my gallery

It's just some glass, some silicon and magnesium. It isn't a religion.

A few photos I took today. It was very cloudy, not good for some false colors.
