stills during video feature, anyone?

i have been using a 700D for many years for my mostly indoors family shoots and videos. it has been acting up lately, and i am in the market for a replacement.

strangely, the most important feature that i look for - the ability to take full res still shots in the midst of a video - is missing in most canon products that came after the 700d (the 100d also had this feature, but thanks to the short battery life i didn't like it). i know there are point and shoots that allow this, but their low light/indoor performance is subpar. please note i am aware there are cameras that can take stills in the same res as the video, that is not what i am after - the 700d can take stills in the res set for stills in the midst of a video which can be of any res.

no reviews cover this feature, so i am not aware of which camera to pick.

any clues?

Canon EOS 700D (EOS Rebel T5i / EOS Kiss X7i) Canon EOS Rebel SL1 (EOS 100D)

Re: stills during video feature, anyone?

I don't know if I can help you.  I just started taking video pictures with the Canon T7i (800D) camera.  I take both video and stills.  I didn't like using the Canon T7i (800D) camera for video because I could not use the viewfinder.  We are forced to use the LCD screen (which is normal for a DSLR camera).  I couldn't see what I was trying to take in bright sunlight and the video would "shake" too much.  So I recently bought two Canon M50 Mark II cameras which allow me to take videos with the viewfinder (for better composition and control).  I'm a newbie with video photography, but I find that it's important to know and understand.  I'm still learning....  The EVF on the mirrorless Canon M50 Mark ii is not as good as the OVF, but it's better than the LCD screen for video (from what little experience I have with it).
