NX1 file error

It's my daughter's birthday today and whilst filming I got the error 'file error' when reviewing the footage. When I transferred the files they played ok on my phone, although there was a bit of a stutter in places. I tried formatting the memory card and trying a different card but the issues persisted with 2 other cards. I also once got the error 'the memory card is too slow' (which it's not)

I then removed and replaced the battery and the issue seems to have gone away.

Has anyone else experienced this? I thought at first it was an issue with the card but it seems not to be that.

Re: NX1 file error

So, after I pulled the battery out I didn't have any further issues. I had ordered another SD card which turned up this evening - sandisk U3. Funny thing is the card seemed a bit thicker than usual - when I pushed it in the slot I didn't hear any click and the card was then wedged in - had to prise it out with tweezers. I tried again and this time it did click and then could be removed, but it's a tighter fit - very odd.

Re: NX1 file error

Can anyone help with this? The issue is still persisting after a reboot and with various cards.

In playback on the camera I get file error after some seconds and it won't play anymore. When viewed off camera the files play, but it seems like there are corrupted frames, if you know what I mean. I hope after a full reset I can resolve the problem.

You are making me sad I had some terrible problems, and still have, with Toshiba cards. The camera froze, and kept saying card error. I once have my card completed erased, after I changed several times from different cameras brands, but that's all... this is making me scared Is there still ways of fixing a Samsung camera?

PS: Go England!

Hmmm.. card seemed thicker? I am just thinking maybe this is the clue... something stuck inside the card reader? Try blowing air with the rocket in it. I would say this is caused by the card reader component.

Re: NX1 file error

The card definitely seemed thicker - I've put another one in and that one seems fine again.

I will try the blower trick though.

I factory reset the camera and recorded a 5 minute video without any glitches, so fingers crossed it's ok now.

In the meantime I ordered another NX1 as a spare (don't tell my wife) - I have too many lenses to give up on this system at the moment!

Re: NX1 file error

I don't think there's any way to fix a Samsung camera unfortunately - I'm hoping my NX1 will be ok now, but it's not a good sign. Although the obvious culprit could be the SD card, it's strange that this behaviour occurred with 2 other cards as well. Hoping it was some sort of software bug.

I hope it will be fine, but I have to disagree with you on the repairs, you can repair and still find parts for it, I think the card reader can also be purchased, hard and a bit pricey but you can still find them. I fixed a dead one which didn't had bad live view from sensor by opening it, removing the MB and all ribbon connectors. Turned out the sensor ribbon was slightly disconnected, missaligned. I think I paid £150 for it, it's going strong, was abused by previous owner but only about 10K clicks.

I am also looking for a spare MB now as I have bought another unit which doesn't have the MB but it is mint in condition. (may be dead though but hey have spare parts

So yeah I have 2.5 NX1s and I am happy
