DIY Ni MH battery pack

So I made a DIY auxiliary battery from an RC Car battery. Its 9.6v. My old warhorse Sunpak 555 does battle with the sun pretty well. Just needed more oomph. Long story short, shot a full day wedding indoors and out on the first charge. Only used 30% of the juice. I machined Delrin mounts so it snaps to my flash in seconds.

This is pretty cool.

How many amp hours is the battery?  What did you use to connect the battery to the flash?

That's pretty cool. I had done something similar with my Sunpak 544, but I used a 12v lead acid battery and I had to get a voltage regulator to knock the voltage down to 9v, so the package is much bigger and heavier. I like the fact that you were able to stick the battery pack to the flash handle.

For less than $70 total investment, it has far exceeded my expectations. The charger takes very little time charge to full capacity.

That's great. I'll investigate this option.
