Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro upgrade Question

Is this as simple as buying an activation key for Win 10 Pro and changing my key under settings, and letting it update? I am running the latest Win 10 Home and updates.

Thanks

Re: Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro upgrade Question

That was the case when I upgraded my win8 to a free win10 install and used a later activation from my win8 pro to make my Win10Pro !

Question - Why do you want Win10Pro ? As a non-IT user, I find no useful additions in Win10Pro over a plain Win10 OS!

Yes - you insert the new key and Windows 10 updates. Most of the files needed are already installed.

Depending on what you actually want/need to do remotely you might find that a free VNC Connect Home subscription is all that you need, as the VNC Server does work on Windows 10 Home. It's certainly all that I needed and saved me the cost of upgrading to a Windows 10 Professional license.

One useful feature of PRO is ability to schedule updates. I scheduled updates on Sundays at 2:00 AM and if if there are updates, they happen at that time including restart if necessary.

I've found Group Policy Editor and the Windows Sandbox useful too.
