I would like my display to stay on longer after I press the shutter release. I think my old film camera would stay on if I press the button half way. Does the 5D have this feature.

Hello ESQuicksall!

Do you have the user manual for your Minolta Maxxum 5d?

Page 105.

LCD Backlight.

The LCD monitor backlight turns off to conserve power after a certain period. Press a camera button to restore the display. This period can be set to 5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds in section 3 of the setup menu (p, 98).

Thanks. I don't really care if it stays on or not ... I just wanted to know.

Thanks all. I guess my camera is really old ... I don't have "tools #3". I was just curious.
