Finally made the leap to mirrorless and to Canon (coming from Nikon D500/500PF combo).  Had great discussion with the very inspiring BirdShooter7 and decided to take the leap.  Just captured some backyard birds this weekend, which was mostly rainy (hence the drenched Cardinal) but enjoying learning a new camera and really enjoying the animal eye autofocus capabilities. Light was not great for most of these, but was very impressed with how well images cleaned up in Lightroom even with higher ISOs (I am by no means a pro and need to learn more about post processing) and also amazed at how these hand held shots came out at not super fast shutter speeds at 800mm!  Amazing stabilization.

This baby house sparrow would sit on the top pole of my feeder all weekend and chirp greedily until mom or dad would come regurgitate food for him/her.

Finally something good to eat! Thanks, Dad!

I call this house wren Larry.  Whenever I sit in my backyard he lands on the fence or the tree nearby and often sings loud and proud at me.

La la la la !!!!

A drenched but very cute cardinal

The last photo is super nice in my opinion. Love the bird’s posture. I could have that picture on my wall.

So kind! Thanks so much! It was a spontaneous shot out my kitchen window through the rain and cropped!
