EOS M6 Mark II - What do you have mapped to all your buttons?
3

I love my M6 II and all the manual controls it has, but I've an extra button or 2 that I don't actually have anything useful mapped to.

I'm looking for ideas and inspiration, maybe I'm missing something obvious that would change the way I use the camera that I haven't thought about.. what does your general set-up look like?

  • Shutter button - Metering & AF start
  • M-Fn - Magnify
  • Dial function button - Still img aspect ratio
  • AF-ON - Metering mode
  • AE Lock - AF method
  • AF point button - One-Shoft AF <> Servo AF
  • Drive mode button - Drive mode
  • Exposure comp. button - ISO speed
  • Set button - No function
  • Erase button - No function
  • Flash button - Flash firing
  • Top front wheel - Shutter speed
  • Top back - Aperture priority
  • Back Wheel - Exposure Compensation

I find this gives me easy access to switch between all the settings I'll ever need, though I wish there were a button to turn exposure bracketing on and off easily.

I only use the camera for taking photos of my cat, wildlife - but mostly non-moving.. and general photos walking about in the city/countryside.

I have set 'turn off display' to down direction of back wheel. When finding a subject or proper framing pisition or waiting for the right moment I turn off screen for the sake of battery juice. (M6 i)

The trash can icon on the bottom of the circular dial on the rear does this 'out of the box' in Fv mode - so no need to remap this function!
