Just got myself a NOS 70-200 f2.8
4

To celebrate my eye surgery tomorrow, I offered my 7D a new lens that I don't really need. But it was too cheap to pass.

It's quite a nice lens, does the job, and CA and color fringing are totally absnet even at f2.8. It's a bit soft at f/2.8, but I actually like that soft focus effect. At f/3.1 it's good for me.
Between two showers, i could go in the woods at take a few photos.
Post treatment was only dxo prime at 20, some slight cropping, and on a few images i added some contrast.

Hopefully the surgery will be successful and soon I will see more than a big blur in the viewfinder. It really sucks to guestimate everything I shoot and pray for the AF to be OK/

Awesome, congratulations on the new lens. The lens looks great and the photos even better! I think you have a happy camera now

I really hope your eye surgery goes well.

Nice and very good pictures, hope that your surgery turn out perfect so you can see the world clear again.

I believe the NOS stands for New Old Stock, but I could be wrong. So many abbreviations and many of them meaning more then one.

Nice purchase, beautiful images, bokeh is smooth. On a side note, Not sure of your eye surgery, but I have just completed cataract surgery on both eyes. Im in the final days of 28 post op days of eye drops.  260 eye drops total in those 28 days. The surgery was flawless, no pain before during or after the surgery. The very next day, my eyesight improved so much I can not stop talking about the dramatic difference. Everything is crystal clear. My eyesight was so bad that the doctor said I was impaired enough, that I would not be able to drive until I had corrective surgery. I could not read any street signs or could not drive at night. Now My eyesight is 20-20 no need for glasses... this actually happened overnight. Colors have become more vibrant, on coming headlights are no longer an issue.

Good luck with your surgery

Bill

Thank EvilOne.
They fixed the cataract in my right eye. Left eye will be in a couple months.
I'm just totally "wowified" with the result!!!! crystal clear, super sharp, vibrant colorss, deep blakcs, hi contrast: I don't even remember I could see like that.
Before my right eye vision was 2/10. All that eye saw was blurry foggy shapes.
i've not been that happy in decades! Can't wait for the other eye to be done.
I can now see something in the viewfinder!!! I can manual focus again, see the informations in the vewfinder, compose, all those basic photo things. Instead of vaguely tried to frame and pray for the AF to work.

This surgeon I had, does 500 a year. been doing this for 20 years. most people around here who have cataract surgery get the second eye done in two weeks after the first. Lots of eye drops over the next 28 days, to help with any chances of infection and also to help the new lens implant become part of the permanent eye structure. If you are going to take a lot of eye drops, here is a suggestion. They have this eye drop assistant on Amazon. it cost 6 dollars, and makes the application of eye drops so much easier.. you dont miss, the dropper cant not touch your eye. and it places the drop actually where it is suppose to go.
