Re: Just picked a C5050

Reminds me that I have 5060 somewhere, my first proper digital camera. In good light the photos were good, but the main highlight for me was video capture even though frames per second wasn’t brilliant. Strangely enough I was thinking about it this morning wondering if the BLM-1 was still available.

Re: Just picked a C5050

I bought it new in 2003, and I still have it. It was really a great camera for its time - still one of my favorite.  Here are some shots I have taken with it over the years...

BLM-1 batteries are available on eBay.  I have quite a few 3rd party BLM-1s and they work fine.

That's awesome. Quick question, on windy approaches, is it a handful like we feel in the cabin or does it just feel that way?  ha ha.  I have flown a cessna 152 a couple of times with the local air school. But no time was it windy etc.

Yes, it can be a handful. Here is a video of my landing in Punta Cana on a somewhat windy day. See for yourself: https://youtu.be/NxLroX1qbZI

I could watch that all day!  I love it. Ever fly into halifax NS, or St John's NL?  I think they are two of the windiest airports in eastern canada.

Yes, I flew into St. John's, but it was the rare day with very nice weather:

Awesome. You lucked out. My son lives there, and we fly out of St john's whenever we go anywhere. It's usually 50mph plus winds with higher gusts. ha ha.!
